I've been reading a lot of negative reviews on this particular location, but I'll have to say the contrary. as I entered I was promptly greeted and sat within seconds, as I ordered, I was promptly greeted with my good in as little as 10-15 minutes, this is as pure as an in-and-out restaurant as you can get. There is very small interaction as the waiter side of things go, but overall experience, it gets a solid 3/5 for is acceptional menu selection (My personal favorite being the foot longs" and it's phenomenal specialty shakes. Excellent for small dates and quick lunches.

Not happy ordered cajun fries and they forgot the seasoning we paid extra for ! Then brought that to me in a cup. I asked for Jalapeños on my dog ... They brought me sliced Jalapeños in a cup on the side ...how hard is it to put it on my meal like a asked .... And to top that off my meal was extremely messy yet my waitress didn't feel the need to bring me any more napkins then one .... She asked me if I minded that onions came on my meal ..I said no I do not mind and when I got my meal there was no onions??? And by the way stake n shake chili isn't just beans and bean juice ... Will not be back to that location

Stopped in for lunch on Labor Day. My wife ordered the Prince of Royal Steakburger, my daughter had a hotdog with fries, and I had the Cajun Steakburger. Overall it was a good meal. My wife's burger had cheese and a fried egg. My Cajun burger was spicy and flavorful. We truly enjoyed our meal. The service was good. We beat the lunch time rush. I even show the manager come out from the back to assist the wait staff. That's cool in my book. If I'm on this side of town, I'll be back.

I'll keep this short 'n sweet. The selection & food quality is ordinary and the service is lousy and slow. Takes years for the servers to come back to you. My friend even told me that her server never came back to give them their check. The low standard of service is pretty consistent with other Steak 'n Shake locations that I just can't with them again. Nope. No more. Done.

The new district manager in the area actually seems to be doing great things. How do I know this? I spoke with her a month or so ago when I called corporate to complain about another Steak 'n Shake here in Jacksonville and she returned my call. She had recently taken over the Jax area and told me improvements would be coming soon. Seems as though she was true to her word. The last couple of times we ate at this particular Steak 'n Shake, we had less than good experiences, so we didn't go back for a while. After speaking with her, we decided to give it another shot and I'm glad we did. Service has been really good. The servers have been much more attentive. Orders are correct, drinks are being kept refilled, and we aren't left to sit at the table forever needing things like utensils and extra napkins because we are checked on frequently. Great job, guys! The burgers have been great. Not only have they been quite tasty, but they are now being put together properly and neatly. No more grease all over the tops of the buns (that was really starting to irritate me). They have quite a large selection of $3.99 specials which include various burgers, hot dogs, and even chicken fingers (all are served with fries). Great value! I haven't been to the drive-thru since the new district manager took over, so I can't speak for that experience. I hope it's as good as the experiences we've had dining in.

About on par with any other steak and shake I have been to. Very long waits in the drive thru. The food is usually hot though and the servers are friendly. Just wish their timing was a bit better. This prevents me from trying to stop by on my way to work.

I usually come to this steak and shake once a month sometimes two. The service is usually pretty fast and the food is always good. I have ordered a milkshake on occasion without whip cream and they brought me one with it. It's a minor flaw in my opinion. I haven't gone through the drive through yet so I can't speak for how fast that is.

Not impressed. I came in for a milkshake and waited 20 minutes for one that was mediocre and is best described as cool (not cold). They also were "out" of milkshake glasses, but only 3 other people had milkshakes. How? I was going to mention it to the manager (who stayed at the register the whole time), but she was too busy gossiping about someone's kids. This is Steak 'n Shakes thing: real milk milkshakes, and they fell way short today.

Last time I walked in it was just a bunch of teens running the place. It smelled like butt , they have not done any deep cleaning in there. There was a staff member that seemed that had a mental issue and keep being loud on the floor. A man was choking and he came over and started patting his back and loudly saying "I'll get you sum water"!!! And the guy looked confused and embarrassed, and the employee started saying something about the Holy Ghost will help him... OMG..... I left

I love Steak 'n Shake and I love their coupons (found in newsprint coupon flyers in the mailbox). Their prices are already really great and the coupons just make it even better. We came here during holiday rush, and even though they were very busy, the young ladies and gents working here were hustling (and the drive thru was moving as well). We walked in the door, and were seated in minutes at a clean booth (our choice), even though the place was almost packed to capacity. The waitress was super savvy and familiar with the coupon deals, so we had no difficulty ordering. (We even rearranged our seating order, due to a lefty child, and the waitress had no problem remembering who ordered what. LOL I've seen more seasoned pros get flustered from a move like that.) Everything came out from the kitchens promptly. First the chili, hot and delicious (best "fast food" chili ever, btw). The burgers arrived as soon as we were finished and the dirty bowls and full plates were exchanged like magic. Everything was exactly as ordered, cooked properly and delicious. We tried the new holiday milkshakes as well, and they did not disappoint. In fact, my only complaint about the whole experience is an old one - the milkshakes only come in one size. I always wish they had a smaller one because I feel guilty at not being able to finish a whole one. LOL Anyway, we did not see the problems others have encountered here. The waitstaff were all very young, but were nothing but polite to us and other tables that we observed. (One table next to us had differently-abled patrons and the waitress was very patient and kind, even with some complicated requests.)

I have eaten at this Steak n Shake on two occasions and as it has been a while since my last visit, I was hesitant to share my advice, but since my lovely wife talked me into writing reviews, I figured it would be a good idea to play catch up and share my opinion even if it's a little outdated. Okay, so now that I've warned you about my outdatedness, it's time to get down to business-- the review. My first visit to this restaurant was with my wife and well over a year ago, but the overall experience (what I remember) was good. The food and service was good enough to reel me back in for a second go. This time I was on the way to visit my wife in the hospital and needed a quick meal, so I decided to use the drive-thru. I ordered a Frisco Melt and cheese fries, simple enough right? Wrong! They somehow managed to burn the meat, not melt the cheese (It's called a melt for a reason right?) and forgot the cheese on the fries. Well, seeing as how I was starving and didn't dare take my food back for fear of having any unwanted special toppings added to my food, I ate. As expected, the Melt was terrible, but again, being hungry, I choked it down and proceeded on to the cheese-less cheese fries, hoping against hope that the fries would be tasty, but alas, they were break your teeth crunchy. At first I thought there were just a few crunchy taters in the bunch, but upon further inspection, I realized that pretty much all of the fries were ruined. I decided it best to trash the rest of the fries and eat something else later. So, I have decided to give this Steak n Shake two stars, only because my first experience wasn't bad.

Well, what can I say. This Christmas i made a big mistake to go and have dinner at this place. I ordered a burger and wait for it 35 minutes and when I started to talk to manager they finally bring it. But it was very big difference what I saw on menu picture and what I get. Also burger and fries was cold like it was made 10 minutes ago and just forget to serve in time. I can not think of any worse place I have eaten for last year. Just spend my money and time. Sad. Never be back.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. My family and I waited 20 minutes to be seated when there were tables open all around us. Allbeit they were dirty but they were vacant and could have been cleaned. No one acknowledged us when we came in so we were just kind of standing in the doorway watching the manager talk on his cell phone and the teenage staff congregate in the back of the store. There was food in the window waiting to be taken to its "lucky" new owner with no one to help get it there. (For at least half of the time we were standing there waiting to be seated) The floor in the dining area was filthy and yup... you guessed it... no one was even trying to clean up. Our food was cold whenever they brought it to us and to top our most unpleasant visit off, the rest rooms were even more disgusting than the dining area. I have loaded pics for all of you lovely folks out there to see for yourself. But they do not do justice to experiencing it first hand. We will NEVER visit this location again.

Well, one out of my last three visits was good. This time they gave me the wrong burger (ordered a western BBQ bacon cheeseburger, got a regular bacon cheeseburger), ordered a large onion ring, got a regular, ordered a strawberry banana shake with the pieces of strawberry, got a plain side by side banana and strawberry, oh and the dr pepper was watery, the shakes came WAY after we were done eating, even though they were ordered first, and the fries tasted sour, (if that is possible). All in all, most likely not gonna go back.

Our experience started off bad. First there is a handwritten sign in the drive-thru saying it's not in order. Ok fine. Now normally I do not give this chain a bad review but when you advertise half-price milkshakes and it's the middle of the afternoon with almost nobody there and you tell me you are "out of milkshakes," you can bet I'm going to be annoyed. They didn't even offer me anything to come back when they do have them, and I had promised my son one for being brave when he got shots.

Dirty restaurant, long waits, and always ALWAYS stuff in my food (hair, once a fly!, black stuff floating in my drink) and our waitress was rude! She was at a table sitting down on the other side of the restaurant playing cards! Me and my boyfriend had to stare at her to get her attention! When our food came, my fries were so greasy that i might as well had drunk the cooking oil out the bottle! Never ever again. Uuuuugh

Very rude young people work here. I went in and ordered to go. I sat and waited and when I received my food I was missing three drinks. The cashier saw me standing there for 5 minutes and she refused to come up and ask me what the problem was after she kept looking at me. I finally just left without drinks that I paid for. Last night I wanted to try the breakfast tacos. My husband told the guy 4 breakfast tacos with potato, egg and cheese he ask what did we want on them again my husband repeated 4 potato, egg and cheese tacos l. He told us to wait while he gets the total. We waited 5 mins in the drive through. We were the only ones!!!!!!!!!!! The guy than ask again you wanted 3 tacos with potato and egg? My husband than repeats our order again! He's not understanding so I shout it from the passenger side. We get our breakfast and to my amazement of course it's missing cheese. Just go to whataburger if you want a breakfast taco. There breakfast taquitos are bigger and taste way better.

For a place that specializes in shakes this place is certainly lacking. I ordered a chocolate shake and could taste that the chocolate syrup was old. The server acted like she could not be bothered with our table just because we only ordered shakes.

If you see people saying the food is good at this location, they are lying to you. Take into consideration I came at midnight the past two nights. The food was so so the first night. I came back the second night just in hope that the pervious night was just a bad night for them. I was wrong the food is just bad service was right there to follow. After going in to inspect how they clean and take care of the place. I believe the health department should shut them down.

Once again, this is a first visit food the family and I. The wife and I ordered the double Jamaican Jerk steakburger. We inquired between that and the 3 pepper steakburger, which was spicier. Our waitress, Mariah told us that the Jamaican Jerk was spicier. It wasn't really. Thank God they had a pepper sauce which brought back childhood memories of good spicy food the wife makes! The burger was rather small though. The burgers at 5 Guys Burgers & Fries was bigger and satisfying although costlier. The kids had steakburger minis. They felt their food was quite small. Overall, it was really good and we'll be back as Arnold would say.

We went to Steak n Shake for a quick meal, hoping for some great burgers and shakes. We got decent burgers, and great shakes. There was nothing wrong with the burgers, they just weren't anything special. The fries were really good though, and my cookies and cream shake was worth the trip on its own. We didn't have any problems with the service, though there were only a few other tables there at the time. Overall, it was fine- but I probably wouldn't choose to go again for a meal.

We passed through Orange Park again and stopped at this Steak n Shake once more. The food was as wonderful as ever, but we had trouble at the cash register again. As with all other Steak n Shakes we patron, we like to place our tip on our gift card. We expressed our desire to do so again, and the cashier ignored our request. Upon getting a manager, the cashier quickly realized she had messed up but flatly refused to acknowledge her mistake nor correct it. She blankly stared at us and forced us to pay the tip in cash. Great food, but TERRIBLE service. I'll eat at Steak n Shake again, just not this one.

My husband told the guy 4 breakfast tacos with potato, egg and cheese he ask what did we want on them again my husband repeated 4 potato, egg and cheese tacos l. He told us to wait while he gets the total. We waited 5 mins in the drive through. We were the only ones!!!!!!!!!!! The guy than ask again you wanted 3 tacos with potato and egg? My husband than repeats our order again! He's not understanding so I shout it from the passenger side. We get our breakfast and to my amazement of course it's missing cheese. Just go to whataburger if you want a breakfast taco. There breakfast taquitos are bigger and taste way better.

For a place that specializes in shakes this place is certainly lacking. I ordered a chocolate shake and could taste that the chocolate syrup was old. The server acted like she could not be bothered with our table just because we only ordered shakes.

If you see people saying the food is good at this location, they are lying to you. Take into consideration I came at midnight the past two nights. The food was so so the first night. I came back the second night just in hope that the pervious night was just a bad night for them. I was wrong the food is just bad service was right there to follow. After going in to inspect how they clean and take care of the place. I believe the health department should shut them down.

Once again, this is a first visit food the family and I. The wife and I ordered the double Jamaican Jerk steakburger. We inquired between that and the 3 pepper steakburger, which was spicier. Our waitress, Mariah told us that the Jamaican Jerk was spicier. It wasn't really. Thank God they had a pepper sauce which brought back childhood memories of good spicy food the wife makes! The burger was rather small though. The burgers at 5 Guys Burgers & Fries was bigger and satisfying although costlier. The kids had steakburger minis. They felt their food was quite small. Overall, it was really good and we'll be back as Arnold would say.

We went to Steak n Shake for a quick meal, hoping for some great burgers and shakes. We got decent burgers, and great shakes. There was nothing wrong with the burgers, they just weren't anything special. The fries were really good though, and my cookies and cream shake was worth the trip on its own. We didn't have any problems with the service, though there were only a few other tables there at the time. Overall, it was fine- but I probably wouldn't choose to go again for a meal.

We passed through Orange Park again and stopped at this Steak n Shake once more. The food was as wonderful as ever, but we had trouble at the cash register again. As with all other Steak n Shakes we patron, we like to place our tip on our gift card. We expressed our desire to do so again, and the cashier ignored our request. Upon getting a manager, the cashier quickly realized she had messed up but flatly refused to acknowledge her mistake nor correct it. She blankly stared at us and forced us to pay the tip in cash. Great food, but TERRIBLE service. I'll eat at Steak n Shake again, just not this one.

Absolutely the worst service ever! Went on our lunch break ended up having to take our food out. Specified well done burgers received burgers that were red on the inside, not my style. The employees along with the manager bickered with each other. Ended up getting the meal free. Never going back...
